• Loved it!!
• I don't have much in common with Stassi. I don't care about musicals or serial killers or astrology. I'm meh about ranch dressing and fully-charged cell phones. I'm an introverted book nerd who would rather get punched in the face than blast my personal life onto the screens of millions of people.
  
  And yet, holy smokes, I loved this book. I watch Vanderpump religiously. Like, religiously. I'm not proud of that (but I guess that can be my basic b**ch confession for the day?). I just love everyone on the show--especially the Toms ;)--and this book has a very similar vibe.
  
  Stassi is honest and unapologetically herself. She confesses some pretty embarrassing facts like how she awkwardly lost her virginity, how she experimented with a lot of, ahem, unflattering fashion stages, or how she is DEEPLY fascinated with serial killers. (Btw, I have definitely walked past a serial killer more than 36 times. The guy who sat behind me in class was absent one day and the next day we saw he walked into a university up north and murdered five people before killing himself. Creepy AF...)
  
  What I love most about the book, though, is how uplifting it is. Stassi expresses a surprising amount of support for other women. I love her thoughts on relationships, sex, even hookups--how she says women are active participants in romantic relationships, not just there to passively be chased until they "give it up." It's actually pretty empowering. And her chapter on female friendships also surprised me by being really insightful. Honestly, I just wasn't expecting her to be as balanced and gracious in her relationships as she is in this book. I'm impressed.
  
  In short, I loved Next Level Basic. It's a quick read and super entertaining. Five stars all the way.
• Great book! Really gets you thinking about how you need to embrace yourself and be true to yourself. Don’t be ashamed of what you love, find someone who can love you for you!
• I am still thrown off by the fact that Stassi Schroeder wrote a book. And when I say she wrote a book, SHE WROTE A BOOK! Not a ghostwriter. Stassi, in all her glory. AND she narrated the audio. I had pre-ordered the hardback, but when I saw she was the narrator, I downloaded the audio. I don't think I would have fully appreciated this book without listening to Stassi read it to me.
  
  I want to say first that you most likely won't fully appreciate this book without knowing who Stassi is. So my advice, go binge watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo. You need to be in the know with just who Stassi is to fully take in this book.
  
  If you are expecting some life-changing, literary piece of work with this book, then you still don't know who Stassi is. That isn't a slam on Stassi, that's just the truth. I really don't know what I was expecting with this book, but I can tell you, I didn't expect some of it.
  
  Believe it or not, Stassi gives us a deep message in this book. Even with her ridiculousness, silly stories, and obsession with ranch dressing, she has an important message.
  
  I loved this book so much because she didn't spout a bunch of cliche' and overused quotes or ideas. She was real, open, and just herself in telling her message. It's not just about all of the basic things she loves. It's about embracing things YOU love. And she puts everything in such a realistic, unfluffed, uncliche'd way, I couldn't stop listening.
  
  If you want to laugh and enjoy someone being absolutely real with you, then I encourage you to pick up this book. I am not ashamed or embarrassed that I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

• Completely vapid. There's absolutely nothing interesting about this book or the character. Even if you're a fan of the show, this book isn't worth your time or money.
• This book was such an easy, quick read. But it was so amazing. It really reminds you how to embrace yourself and to just own who you are and not give AF about what other people think. If you love Stassi and are one of her Khaleesi’s then you will love this book!
• LOVE THIS! I’m one of those people who wishes they liked to read and I often try to make myself. But this book is great and fun to read. It’s so relatable and I have found it difficult to want to put down!

• Was looking forward to this book but unfortunately everything in it is either outdated (the longest chapter being slate board routines) or gimmicked. There are only a few tricks that are impromptu. Almost everything requires preparation, which for some people is fine. Personally I dislike anything I cant do at a moments notice with a borrowed object.
• This is one of the best sources to have to mental magic. There are effects in this book that fool other mentalist. This material has been overlooked and under used. It is the best investment you can make as a mentalist.
• Interesting reveal of some standard techniques.

• Practical mental magic includes a lot of magic tricks. I think that it is a good book for beginners of mental magic. Actually, the reason I bought this book is because the famous mentalist Max Maven recommended this book in one of his interviews. He said that although this book was written long ago, some of the methods were still used in these days. After I read this book, I have to say it is awesome, though some tricks were not really good. However, I picked a few tricks from the book and performed to my friends, they were all freaked out. Looking at their faces, I knew that I have bought the right book.

This guidebook describes the 225km Walker's Haute Route between Chamonix and Zermatt, one of the finest of all Alpine treks. On the final stage it crosses the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge which has been created on the exciting Europaweg above the Mattertal. Every stage has its own special attributes, adding up to a walk of classic proportions.

• I'm an employee of a tech startup looking at how to address a large stock option grant. I consider myself well-educated, but when it comes to tax law, I'm both ignorant and have a hard time digesting the IRS documents. Many other online sources have limited information here. I just read the ISO & AMT section of this book right now, and I finally feel like I understand what's going on. I've heard plenty of stories where tax preparers make expensive mistakes. Don't you want to understand what's at play here? As you see from the other reviews here, the tax preparers don't understand the IRS laws either. They go here. All startup employees with significant potential option packages should read this too. For ten bucks for the kindle version and an hour to read the essential sections slowly, you'll be glad you did. I also hardly ever leave reviews, but I'm doing this here because other people in my professional situation ought to be properly informed.
• Good book though mostly got it because it's a required reading for CEP. It flows well and feels less "dry" compared to other CEP materials. So, if you're someone interested in the career this is a good intro. However, if your'e someone looking to get clarification on stock comp get a professional. Issues that are W-2/taxes heavy this is not an answer; death, divorce, same sex marriage...are all things for a professional to help with. At the minimum, always consult with your company's stock plan administrator. Thanks.

• This book is a VERY good read for anyone interested in stock Options, restricted stock, ESPP, RSU's, etc. Everything is explained in plain English without going so deep into the subject matter that you get hopelessly lost. However, there is something for everybody as so many items are explained so well that even if you are already familiar with the subject matter (as I already was) you will still pick up so much information that you did not know. This book is required reading for some college classes (as is the case for me), and rightly so. I would explain this book as a beginner to intermediate read in this subject matter, and one of the best books I have read on this subject (I've read about 15 or so books in learning about stock options and employee stock).
• I read the book in just about 4 hours. It was an easy read and provided me with a wealth of information related to selling of stock options and espp plan based stock. Primarily it explains very well the tax implications of decisions to sell. It also described other reasons to sell such as risk reduction. I highly recommend this book to any employee of a public company that participated in espp or iso or nso or rsu plans.
• This book is extremely informative and explains everything you need to know about incentive stock options. There are a lot of aspects to stock options as a form of compensation that are very complicated and not easily understood by the lay erson. One of these aspects is alternative minimum tax. This is the first book I have found that explains the ins and outs of this devious little tax problem. The book is overall well written and extremely well organized so you can jump right to a specific subject, cross-read and go on to other aspects that are referenced. The book also talks about strategic use of options, long-term investing etc., things one should hear as a second opinion from somebody other than the stockbroker who is in charge of your account. If you have started in a company that offers stock options as part of your compensation, get this book, learn and benefit.
• Well written and the author truly knows his stuff. He gave a better explanation of the Alternative Minimum Tax in just a few pages than another author gave in a whole book (which was badly written and full of errors). I recommend this book for any tax professional's library.

• This was very useful on our recent trip to Italy. We had both the Lonely Planet phrase book and this one with us, but this is the one we ended up using. We found it easier to navigate and more comprehensive than the other. It had more information and was organized more clearly than Lonely Planet. In particular, I thought the Rick Steve's pronunciation guide was easier to follow and got me closer to the correct pronunciation than the Lonely Planet book.
  
  However, what really tipped it over the edge was its section on health and medical care. My husband and I -- who travel frequently and rarely get sick -- contracted some kind of horrible flu/sinus infection/plague on the way out or Rome and needed to seek urgent medical consultation and care from a pharmacy on the Amalfi coast. The Rick Steves guide came to our rescue because it had more than three times the amount of health and medical vocabulary than the Lonely Planet book, which we desperately needed because we had a lot of specific symptoms to communicate and the pharmacist/doctor only spoke a few words of English. Thanks to Rick Steves, we were able to explain what was going on and get the right medical information (and medicine) to help us recover quickly. I don't know what we would have done if we had only had the Lonely Planet phrasebook to go on. We might have been given cough drops instead of antibiotics.
  
  If you are on the fence, this is the way to go.
• If your goal is to just learn "survival Italian" for a vacation, you should get this book instead of or in addition to a more comprehensive and academically focused reference. With this alone, you will be better than 95% of tourists in terms of language proficiency. More importantly, this book focuses on only the common situations for travelers. So you will learn most of what you are likely to need. The organization is great, and it is easy to find the correct sections if you need to look something up.
  
  I'd recommend this to anyone vacationing in Italy, who would like to know some of the language for necessities, or to just enhance their experience and level of interaction with Italian people.
• Worth every penny! I had done the Pimsleur's Italian CDs before my trip to Venice and Florence, but I only listened to them in the car and didn't do the readings so I while I could pronounce basic Italian I couldn't read it. This is a small compact but not tiny book that is a perfect companion to take w/ you on your trip to Italy. I LOVE that the dictionary part is both Italian to English and English to Italian! And it doesn't take up a lot of room and it spells the words in Italian the way they sound. It looks a little weird but it works. Nobody could believe I didn't study Italian in school with the combo of the CDs and this book. I put this book in the back pocket of a small travel purse where I put my glasses, sunglasses, lip balm/gloss, tissues, gum whatever and a small amount of money. I put the money I was traveling with for the day and my credit cards in a money belt. My brother told me the only time Rick Steves' was ever pick pocketed in Europe was when he didn't wear a money belt. Thank you Rick Steves.
• This made our trip way better. So many tourists everywhere, this helped personalize our trip. This is for the smart traveler and helps them take it all in. If you buy this you must read it and not just skim it. I was shocked how hooked up we got using this book. This is not for everyone, if you don't want to read or care about where you are and just want to zone out and have someone do everything for you, not for you. If you want to dig into this resource and explore where you are and the people and culture, take time to carry it with you and read while your walking around. Yes, this book was in our pack, pulled it out everywhere, from North to south. I can't even imagine not having this as a resource. I would have paid way more for this load of compiled info on all our stops and things to check out. Plus Rick is the best! He makes it easy for the fish out of water to find its way. Massive thanks for this fantastic resource. Also, download his audio tours, as all the cruise line tourist sprint through all the museum with their selfie stick raised high, you can sit tight and listen to all the awesome info and insight to what makes these places amazing. • Effective for what it was intended for-- an easily pocket-portable phrasebook/dictionary, with a "menu decoder" section, sections on temperature conversion, tips on the Italian culture, and valuable information for communicating in an emergency. On a recent trip to Italy I always carried this little book around in my pocket when exploring on my own, and it served me well. My only critique is that the dictionary sections of the book-- both Italian to English and English to Italian --were not quite as extensive as I would've liked, but they were adequate.
  (For a more in-depth [though not as portable] dictionary, I recommend the Collins Italian Dictionary Pocket Edition; I left that much larger book back at the hotel for study at night while using this smaller volume for walking around, as noted above).
• This was so helpful on our trip to Italy. There are a lot of people that don't speak English in more rural areas like Lake Como but they are good sports and are willing to wait as you look up what you want to say in this book. We LOVED Italy! We were so impressed with this book that we're buying the French version to work on conversational French with our French immersion kids.
• AMAZING, Amazing book for intl. travel a GREAT Guide for exploring Venice, needed nothing else, and had some GREAT recommendations for "skip the line at St Mark's Basilica" great walks, etc from the St Mark Square area and nearby.
  
  I would like to see some great restaurant reviews in the future, for future editions, could not use for finding GREAT Venetian Restaurants.

• This book is another FANTASTIC history by the Russian Historian, Simon Sebag Montefiore! I love the descriptions and the book was easy and delightful to read. Only, it should have been entitled Potemkin, as the book is mainly on him. Still, if you are ready to learn part of what made Russia what it is today (good and bad), this is a strong and worthwhile read.
• This is a detailed and intimate take on the love affair of Catherine the Great and Potemkin, using their own letters as resource material as well as observations from various political cognoscenti to provide a rounded and robust view on two larger than life figures. We are shown Catherine as full of life, a great lover and generous woman as well as a political creature with no compunction about having her adversaries removed from the field. A fascinating read.
• This is a wonderful book, filled with the inside stories of how history was made. Many spicy details are recounted here which do not appear in later books, even Montefiore's own, which surprises me. Potemkin shaped the world more than many of the kings and emperors which we study in school.

• Excellent biography and look at Russian society.
• Important historical read, but really slow.

• This is just a fantastic story, it has everything. I'm amazed I had never heard it before. Catherine the Great and Prince Potemkin were both fascinating people as was their relationship. As is so often the case truth is stranger than fiction. I've never wanted to visit Russia before but now St Petersburg is on my list. Also great background on what is happening now in the Crimea. I love this book.
